Underwater Communications Gear

The communications gear, manufactured by Ocean Technologies, allows divers to communicate to the surface and diver to diver without cumbersome wires.  The unit is worn by the diver and plugs into their mask, providing effortless communications. Much of the water the team searches in is ’zero visibility,’ meaning the diver cannot see anything underwater.  Truman Heartland Foundation’s generosity in funding the purchase of this equipment gives the team an additional safety buffer by being in constant communications with the diver.

The Truman Heartland Community Foundation, located in Independence, Missouri, was formed in 1983 as a philanthropic resource for the people and charitable organizations of eastern Jackson County, Missouri.  The mission of the foundation is to serve and strengthen the Eastern Jackson County community, both present and future, by encouraging private giving for public good.   For more information about the Foundation, contact Dr. Paul Thomson, President/CEO, at 816-836-8189.
