EQUIPMENT - Air Bags
|
CAPABILITIES:
These two bags are experienced at lifting automobiles/trucks, boats, and small aircraft. We've also used them to move heavy (4,000#) cement blocks. We choose to remotely control the air inflation of these bags for safety, and use a "Y" type of filling hose. One bag will consume approximately 65 cu ft of air.

The Team prepares the airplane with an airbag, before imersion, to show the new team members what is expected of them in the zero visibility environment of the freshwater lake. Note: The airbag is linked above the cabin with a strap going through the cabin just behind the wing roots. This method will not bring the cabin out of the water. This technique is used by us to remove the aircraft from extractions where the aircraft is submerged in deep mud or when the wings hard-points are not available. Surface manipulation of other bags can then be accomplished once the aircraft is stabilized and in better visability 2-3'. |
| Divers fill the airbag to retrieve an early 1970's carboat. The carboat was on its maiden voyage when the owner discovered he had forgotten to insert the drain plugs. |
